Re: Craft Corner

Love the tree frog @Former-Member !  Great job

 😊😊❤️❤️🐸🐸🌻🌻

Beautiful dotting as always @Maggie.

Like your sewing machine @cutiepiekitty, will look great when you get to the end.

I am trying my first square one at the moment, bit tricky at the start, but, think I am. Getting the hang of it.

@Judi9877, blankly looks great, ambitious!! 😊😊

It's really nice to see everyones.efforts.  Happy crafting to you all.. 😊😊❤️❤️

Re: Craft Corner

@Gazza75 the squares do take a bit of getting used to but the finished result is amazing. No spaces.

Re: Craft Corner

@cutiepiekitty, yes I think the picture will turn out better in the long run  I have a few. More square ones to work on, thought I had a large one, but, turns out I ordered round

I get most of mine from aliexpress, have heard gemit is very good to. 😊

Re: Craft Corner

@BlueBay, I'm not very clever

It's just time and patience and a. Little practice. I started out with a nice small one and went from there.

I find it relaxing and helps me. Focus. And not think or dwell to much.

Hope you are having an okay night. 😊😊❤️❤️🌻🌻

Re: Craft Corner

@Former-Member  I like your tree frog. Well done you. 😍😍😍👍👍👍✔️✔️✔️

Re: Craft Corner

Morning everyone 🙂 So nice to log on and see all the crafty creations 😊

@Maggie love your stones. I'm going to show the little crew and have a feeling the one on the right will make them smile and want to rock hunt!

@Former-Member your frog is awesome! It looks big and like it would have taken a while. Are you going to frame it?

Yours is looking fab too @cutiepiekitty! Great tips with where to pick them up too.

@BlueBay interested in hearing if you find yourself diamond painting 😊

@Judi9877 love your blanket in progress! That looks great and I love the random-ness about it. Very very cool. I'd like to know how to knit properly, but I'm a little uncoordinated for two sticks! Interesting about the diamond dot colours. Only yesterday I was looking at the ones I picked up for the kids wondering whether they were standard colours as they have those numbers and codes 🤔 Hope your study is going well ❤

Hoping everyone creating something, or thinking about creating something, is enjoying it 🙂

Re: Craft Corner

Hi @CheerBear @Maggie @Gazza75 @cutiepiekitty @BlueBay @Former-Member @outlander and all crafty people here! It’s so nice to check in here and see all the wonderful crafty creations😊! Well done👍!

It was so nice to see your tree frog @Sherry. I love it, especially all of the details in it. I think it would be great as a cross stitch!

@Maggie Yes, it’s amazing what you find out in relation to how different crafts can cross over like diamond dots and cross stitch. I found this out through a Facebook group that I follow. I love your rocks as well, especially the one with the eyes. So cute! I’m yet to venture into my rock painting kit that I purchased a few weeks ago- I’ve got issues with starting anything new right now because of my housing situation being a bit uncertain until Friday. Long story so I won’t go into it here but crafting is helping especially the knitting of the blanket strips which are simple yet doesn’t require much thinking.

@CheerBear thanks for the nice comments about the blanket! Yes, it’s a bit random but I like how I just knit according to the colours of how I feel. I have a thing about colours and meanings and I tend to be drawn to certain colours at certain times- just a feelings and mental thing I guess! As for uni, it’s studying again as usual but I have done some knitting this morning - this time, I’m knitting yellow but I’m not sure how long I’ll knit it for. Uni is fun but stressful but I am enjoying learning which is the main thing.

@Gazza75 thank you for all the comments! I like your diamond dots and seeing how you’re going with them. Speaking of things like that, I found a crochet pattern called Starry Nights which is based on the colours of Van Gogh I believe. It’s hexagon based and in different shades of blue with white and yellow in it. You can make a blanket or a pillow from the pattern. This might be good for the crochet lovers in the group @CheerBear @outlander @Maggie and others.

Okay! Time to go! Have fun creating today! @Judi9877

Re: Craft Corner

Have a good day @Judi9877 .  Hope your housing situation is sorted out soon.  I have seen a few people do a cross stitch pattern into a diamond painting.  I think I can see how it would work.  In my local spotlight the 2 crafts are  next to each other and some of the designs like galahs and parrots are displayed in both.

I didn't know about the DMC codes, but, I have read that they do vary between manufacturers for diamond paintings.

I'd love to see the frog cross stitched.  It's still one of my favourite paintings I have seen. Think it has close to 30 colours in it, happy to send you the colour chart for it if it helps and you want to give it a whirl.

Re: Craft Corner

@Judi9877 Have seen the Starry Night by Van Gogh done as a beaded bracelet by one of the ladies at craft. Looked really great. Have seen it for diamong painting too. They can make a picture into practically anything these days
