Had my DSP medical assessment today. Oddly, the main benefit if I get it is that it will mean I'm freed up to care for other family members who are worse off than me. Given I'm away fairly frequently for a week at a time to visit Mum and Dad and *try* to sort out their stuff and otherwise help them, and also have to deal with intermittent and unpredictable crises with our daughter, I'm not in a position to earn an income. Is hard though... I don't qualify for carer pension because of the intermittent nature of my caring duties, but it's exhausted me to the point that even if it all miraculously resolved tomorrow, I'd still be recovering from the emotional blasting for some time yet. *IF* the application passes the final Centrelink hurdle, I need to somehow try to work out a recovery plan for myself too. Nah... I need to do that even if I don't get the DSP. Maybe I need to start a thread elsewhere on that topic so we can share ideas...
And on that topic, will be doing one of those intermittent visits to parents, leaving Friday, so I'll also be disconnected from the www for a bit under a week. Gee, Hot Choc will be a bit quieter. 😄
