Re: MENOPAUSE

Hi @Amanda4 How are you feeling today? Have you seen your GP? Do you have a good GP?

Perimenopause almost broke me.

Re: MENOPAUSE

Hey there @Amanda4 and @Glisten

Oh my god, I hear you both.

I finally feel like I'm coming out the other side of it (I'm just 54). But peri started for me at about 45. So it's been 9 years omg. My symptoms were horrid. ALL of them. Insomnia and anxiety were the worst. I am just about to log off for the day but I'll send you some links to great resources when I'm back in. I started taking HRT when I was 45 and it saved my life. For me, replacing those dwindling hormones with some extra ones was everything. I still had rotten symptoms but I had more good days than bad. And I could sleep! I would highly recommend seeing a GP who has expertise in the area. I actually admin a FB group if you are interested. The resources they have there are amazing. We have a list of menopause friendly GPs plus all the different types of treatments. PLUS an amazing 26000 or so Aussie women who are going through the same. Such a great community. If you search perimenopause Australia in FB you'll find it. I know not all are FB fans so I can still get those resources for you. A great one to start with is Louise Newson, a UK menopause dr who has loads of info. Then there is WellFemme an Austalian telehealth service for menopausal women. I hope some of that helps!

Re: MENOPAUSE

Gosh, finding a good GP is so important. Is there someone in your area that specialises in womens health?

There's a REALLY good All in The Mind episode on menopause, it's more informative than helpful.

Re: MENOPAUSE

Eat plenty of protein, drink plenty of water and sauna. For me sauna is the best thing ever for my mental and physical health.
