Ups and Downs of Husband`s Mental Illness

Re: Ups and Downs of Husband`s Mental Illness

Good morning @Former-Member, Hows things?
You have been in my thoughts, trust all is well as can be.

Re: Ups and Downs of Husband`s Mental Illness

Hi all .... 😊💕

It looks like the podcast has identified S2 as an underachieving Type A who can be redirected into more positive thought patterns ..... in a nutshell ..... but the negative patterns are clearly what are in a. out-of-control state in WH ..... so listening to the feedback from S2 has made WH veeeerrrrry uncomfortable (he was not permitted to stay in S2's apt, which he expected to be able to do).

Whatever happens, this is going to be. Wet interesting.

I wouldn't have recognised S2 as Type A if anyone had asked, because he comes across as so positive and laid-back ..... but it seems that this is the form taken when a Type A internalises the negativity and aggression. With that perspective in mind, I can identify that that is D1 and D3 as well .... but not S1 and D2, I think ......

Again, the girls don't come across as negative, so apart from internalising the negative feelings, there must be moderating personality traits to this, and I imagine it operates on a spectrum.

I guess WH's former BED eating disorder was an internalising of negative feelings, and the workaholism was his coping strategy.

While it might be interesting to postulate, I can't possibly solve or resolve this myself, and I am soooo greatful to have S2 at the pdoc now ..... without any illusions at all that this will be easy.
